Hello,

I'm getting a Murano SL with the 360 package so I will have the Ipod Interface. I have a few questions after searching this forum

1) Is the IPod interface compatible with a 5th gen IPod. I've read some places where people can't get it to work in their car (not necessarily a 2010 Murano)

2) Can I get video to show up on the screen? If so, how?

and

3) Is there a way to scroll through my IPod on the screen in the car of do I need the LE to be able to do that?

Please let me know. I appreciate the help.

Thanks

1) The interface will work with the newest iPod, but you will need an adapter available in order for the interface to charge the iPod.
2) Video will work, but not via the interface, and not while the vehicle is driving (unless you perform the "modification" to allow video playback while the vehicle is driving.
3) If you have the interface on your SL, it will have all the same features and functions as the LE interface including the scrolling!

Thank you for the answers Timmbo.

One followup question.

So, because my Ipod is 5th generation, even though I have the IPod Interface (cord in the center counsel) I will need to buy an adaptor for my specific IPod? or is it a new cord altogether?

Thank you for all the info.

Yes, that is correct. You iPod will work without the adapter, but it will not charge, WITH the adapter, you will have the charging function.

Thanks for the information Timmbo.

I hate to keep sounding ignorant but the IPod Interface cord attaches to the main part of the IPod (not 1/8th jack) Therefore, I'm not sure how I could fit another cord attached to it. Unless, it is an interim cord where I would connect my Ipod to the cord you mentioned which plugs into the cord that goes in the center console. If this is the case I'd love to know what that connecting cord is called and where I could buy it.

Thank you!

I believe. this thread and this thread - will answer your questions
In short, you would need an adapter that allow you to connect a usb cable that charges via the power outlet and also have the LE ipod cable connected...

Here you go guys, this adapter will allow your newer generation iPhone and iPods to charge using your iPod Interface. Here is the link. You can purchase at Amazon.com for $24.95.
