So I messed up my old cable in the center console of my '09 Mo. Bought a new cable, new iPod with the lightening connector and the 30 pin adapter from Apple. First time I put it in, the car says iPod not connected, turns out the battery had just died on the iPod. So I charge it overnight, plug it in today, and the aux button now cycles thru selections, and now iPod is gone, does not show as a option. Any ideas on why?

2 Things , maybe its not compatible with the new iPhone (5) or ... sometimes what happened to my adapter is that before conecting it needed to be on the music app in my ipod and in the XM Radio Preview section in my stereo in order for them to be compatible
