Hi everyone! I'm new to the group. I have a G35 Coupe (2007) and want to use my iPod in there so bad, but I want to have a way to have a screen, whether its through the iPod or a dash-mounted screen. Any ideas? FM transmitter stinks by the way

You have a couple of options.

1. You can get an aftermarket double-din receiver with a screen and hook it up with an adapter that works with it. You would also have to get the double-din dash conversion kit which will run you an extra $300 because you have to replace the climate controls.

2. http://www.everythingg35.com They have an iPod integration kit where you would use your iPod screen and it plugs into the satellite radio input.

Alright well not only did I get my Sirius radio installed today, they added this converter thing so i now have my ipod on there. It's like an FM transmiter but a direct connect. Pretty cool. And i had a toggle switch put in so I can switch back to my regular radio and cd player. I'll have to add pics here but it's awesome!!! And suprisingly, i got all this done today at Best Buy!

How many people have used this on their '07? the kit from everythingg35.com that is. I am very interested in getting it and wonder how you guys like it.

I do not plan on paying for the xm service anymore so this would work out great. quick questions though.

What can you control? just volume and track selection from the steering wheel I read, but can you search artists and stuff from the tune knob?

Does the kit come with wiring long enough to run to the center console?

How hard is it to wire/run to the center console?

I read the installation notes but that was for an older g

Installation will be the same really as you read earlier on that site. So it does come with enough wiring and the difficulty is going to based on whether you've done this stuff before and how comfortable you are in removing interior panels, seats, and drilling inside the car as per the instructions.

I've done a decent amount of wiring before so that should not be a problem. But then again that was all on older cars, not brand new ones

I agree - I did an install on my 2003 coupe of a different brand of adapter but the process should be the same. Allow plenty of time ( I would say 3-4 hours uninterrupted should be more than enough) and make sure you understand the directions and that they provide you directions to disassemble everything. Someone posted the link to the maintenance manual as a sticky to this site - this would also be a good resource to have in general. I didn;t drill - in my installation - except for the hole on the interior of the arm console to run the ipod plug through.
