Has anyone installed this? I assume it allows full iPod control, which is great. I really despise the Aux In jack on the front of my V, because of all the wire clutter.

I check the Nissan accessories page fairly regularly, and I'm pretty sure this is a new item.

I just got the parts from my dealership on Thursday and installed it over the weekend. But, I'm having a hard time getting it to work, so I'm going to talk to the service department to find out what's going on. With that in mind, wait a couple days and I'll give you the full scoop, and possibly a full "How To" tutorial if you want to be brave and do it yourself.

Please do that because ever since I got the Versa, I've been hoping to do the same

Can this be used for the S too or just the SL?

If the same iPod adapter is available for the S, then it's possible, although one of the wiring harnesses that I had to use ran to the satellite, there might be some changes that need to be made based on how the vehicle is set up.

I'll be finishing the car this afternoon and should be able to post my findings tonight, if everything goes well and my 4 year old doesn't require too much time away from the computer.

Is this ipod only? Or could I use this to give my S an aux jack?

As far as I'm concerned, **** the ipod. I love my sirius/creative zen.

well... the connector has an iPod dock at the end so unless your Zen uses the same dock... it won't work.

p.s. this is the same connector as is sold through bancroft so check the pricing...

Jaesin.

This one is definitely only for the iPod. It may not be the best product on the market, but it's got the most market share. I don't like it any more than the next guy, but that's the way it is. (I still like Beta over VHS).

sorry. (don't shoot the messenger)

Anyone know if this adapter works for the 07 Sentra with the Fosgate sound system. The adapter doesn't show up under accessories for the Sentra.

Thanks

I think it all depends on the head unit that you have. I'm fairly sure that the Sentra uses the same head unit, but there may be different ones depending on what audio package you got. Anhow, here's what I've got:

That looks absolutely awesome. Does it work well? Did you do all of the work yourself?

Check bancroft's website, they list several Nissan models that this connector works with.

coxcj - How's the functionality? Products like this usually suffer from either a horrible iPod interface or a pretty crippling lag. Some products like this also only let you navigate through 6 playlists (to correspond with the 1-6 preset buttions).

What's your take?

I think it works pretty well. There are some quirks, but it can easily be overcome. It was also fairly simple to do by myself. I'm in the process of writing up a "How To", and just need to get the rest of the pictures posted.

The functionality for the most part is good. There's a slight lag, but nothing that would make you want to slit your wrists. The interface is all fairly easy. The only thing is that the controls aren't what you would expect. There's an easy enough work around to make things quick when getting in the car.

All in all, definitely well worth it.

yes. all you have to do is change the display button to song title, or you could choose artist (or any of the other irrelevant options)

Hey coxcj thanks for all the hard work. Would you mind going into detail on iPod functionality when it's hooked up? For example, how do you scroll through artists, albums, playlists?

The functionality is a little tricky. The adapter comes with a manual for all of the operations, so I don't have too much detail because I haven't looked at it thoroughly. When the iPod is connected, it needs to be on the Satellite channel to play. You can press the "Seek/Track/File" arrows up or down to scroll through the menus as they display on the radio, and then use the "Tune/FF-REW/Folder" arrow up to select that menu. That's the extremely simple version that I've played with. The system defaults to continuous play and repeat playlist as a standard. Every time you turn off the radio (by turning off car or powering off), it will revert back to those defaults.

Because I really hate messing with it, here's what I normally do. I have my iPod hooked up to my computer, find a playlist that will suit my needs, and set it to random or whatever, and then start playing the first song. This will randomize the songs in the playlist. (if you don't want random, skip that step). Then right click on the playlist and choose "copy to play order". Eject the iPod from iTunes and start the playlist you want (play and pause the first song you want to hear). This will have it all set up for when you connect it to the car. Once you connect it to the car, it will be all set so you don't have to do anything except listen.

This may seem like a lot of work, but it's really much faster than trying to figure it all out on the car's controls. All it takes is a little planning ahead and you're golden.

Sorry I'm so long winded.

Oh, I just thought of another quirck that is worth mentioning. If you hit the preset buttons, it will take you to the preset channel on the radio. I've noticed when I'm turning the wheel that occasionally I hit the toggle on the steering column and it changes on me. I get pissed every time it happens.

Just an FYI.
