I've been scourring the net (this forum, the other forum, and other sites) trying to find an answer on how to hook up my iPod to my wife's Murano. I bought her a used 2010 SL with Bose 6-disc, without Navigation, with XM. We are not using the XM service. Can I add the connectivity inside the console box (like what comes standard on the 2010 LE)? Or should I order the parts that hook up to the XM box? I'd prefer to not use a FM transmitter or the AUX inputs in the back seat. I've found a lot of threads discussing connectivity for the first gen (2003-2008), but I don't see any threads discussing steps taken for the second gen.

Using the auxiliary inputs is truly the easiest, cheapest, and most utilitarian method. Have you given it a try yet? The sounds quality from those inputs will beat the sound quality from any XM-iPod adapter. But, if you're still interested in using an adapter the best one available on the market currently for the Murano is the iSimple Gateway - here is a link to the product on iSimple's website.

Best of luck, and welcome to NICO! :)

I second that on using the AUX ports, that really is the easiest method!

Thanks for the response and the warm welcome! I realize this topic has probably been beaten like a dead horse, but like I said, I'm struggling finding information on the 2Gen. And I apologize for not being more specific in my original post. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that using a headphone to RCA is the simplest way to get functionality. However, I'm looking for something along the OEM side of things.

Is the harness not already in place behind the dash where the iPod connection box goes? Why can't I find the little insert that goes in the glove box on Courtesy Parts because it is discussed in the AV Service Manual? I'm well aware that I'll need this adapter if I want to be able to charge my iPhone4 while connected to the audio system. Where I'm stuck is how do I actually go about connecting it to the audio system? Surely someone has done this for the 2Gen, right?!

Since you have the AUX ports, you could use the OEM Aux -> iPod harness that I just noticed was listed on Courtesy Part's website: http://www.courtesyparts.com/harness-au ... _7741_7743&

Just remove the cable connection behind the aux ports and replace it with the cable connection from the iPod adapter and you'll be all set. Obviously you'll loose the functionality of the aux ports, though, so that's the only downfall.

I just provided a better place to buy in regard to price. I am not sure about compatibility.

Are you sure that iPod cable you recommended will work as you described? I found part that merely by chance (on the AV page of Courtesy Nissan, but it's labeled "BRACKET").

Anyway, looking at the wiring diagrams in the AV Service manual, connector M253 plugs in to the auxiliary input jacks and connector M260 is what that cable you referenced plugs into. Those connectors are not the same. M253 is a single layer 8 pin connector where M260 is a double layer 16 pin connector.
