Ipod connection - no foreign lanquage support on LCD display

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I just bought my EX35 few days ago. Looooving everything about it so far with the exception of one reeeeallly annoying thing:

When I hookup my Ipod to the console it does not display any of the titles that are on russian. It just appears as blank on the infiniti LCD dispaly. I have about 20GB of songs with about half of them being on russian so renaming all of them on English is not really something I want to do.Please tell me there is something I can do to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance!

Здравствуйте!

Unfortunetly I do not think it is possible to get your iPod to transfer your information. Although your iPod may display your track title and information in Russian on it's screen but I do not think the cars software has the capabilities to translate. Although I will admit I do not know if the EX has a Russian option. I do not think there is much that can be done currently though. I'll look into it at work tomorrow for you though.

Привет и Вам Тоже!

I think car software is only capable of displaying English and French and the only way to get it display other lanquages is to pray that Infiniti will release a software update some time in the future. But until then I still hope there is something that can be done as a workaround. To whoever figures it out -

Thanks for looking into it Steve!

Guys, I appologize in advance for repeating my question, but I notice this thread got only one reply and went all the way down the list.

I have a feeling I am not the only one who is (or will be) struggling with trying to play foreign songs on EX35 console using Ipod.

Anyone has ANY ideas how to go about it? (display various foreign lanquages that appear on Ipod, but not on the ex35 console)...It's been killing me lately.

Thanks again guys and I promise not to raise this question again regardless of whether I get any response or not.

the display only supports UTF-8/ANSI I think this is stated somewhere in the owners manual.
