An excellent information piece from you! Here is the information. Thanks again !

I also own a 2005 Nissan Quest which I added 2 aux inputs to using the AAI-NIS from PAC Audio. I've read in serveral places that this unit does not work in the M's. Well I've got good news, it does as long as you know how to get power to the unit. The 12 pin Sat connector on the back on the main audio unit is the same in every Nissan/Infiniti so that plugs right in. I did have to cut off the pigback they were using to get ACC 12v power and spliced into the ACC off the back on the main audio unit (Pin 7 purple wire with two silver dots on the audio units 20 pin connector). The whole thing took maybe 20 minutes to install and works like a champ.
So now I have my iPod!!!!
My next project is to get to that nice display . But since I don't have the tech package or Nav, I can't use that Nav Hack. So I've got to get the pin out for the AV unit to see how to 'hack' into it. Lucky my Infiniti dealership has been pretty good about getting me the diagrams I need to do this stuff. The first thing I did to the car was to pull the stock speakers and install some real audio equipment.
BTW, If you do this please don't just splice into the first purple wire you see. There are several purple wires on that connector as well as the rest of the unit.

I think that the NIS2 creates a third aux input that a factory Sat-Radio can pass-through on, but I don’t know if in doing that it prevents it from working on the M. I don’t know why it would. It has the exact same 12 pin plug as other Nissan’s.
Ok here are some images.
First remove the cup hold (it just pulls up)

Next remove the four screws holding in the middle tray and removehttp://picasaweb.google.com/re...65106
Now pull down on the shift cover and remove the u clip that holds the handle in placehttp://picasaweb.google.com/re...58162
Next pop up the shift lock coverhttp://picasaweb.google.com/re...50834
Press the shift lock and put shifter in to drivehttp://picasaweb.google.com/re...84818
Remove the two screws from the lower part of the radio face plate and removehttp://picasaweb.google.com/re...11602
Next remove the four screws, two on the top metal bracket and two way back about 2/3 the way down next to the CD changer(not visible in image), on the audio unit and CAREFULLY slide out. I recommend putting down a rag to not scratch up the metal trim.

Unplug the factor sat cablehttp://picasaweb.google.com/re...37842
I spliced into the ACC power on the Audio Unithttp://picasaweb.google.com/re...77202
Plug in the AAI-NIS and run audio cables to input device (iPod)

The AAI-NIS has plenty of room to sit underneath the audio unit. And that's it.

crimsonm35 wrote:The AAI-NIS2 is a little different. I've seen pictures. There should be two sets of wires and a RCA Right/Left, one set that goes to the 12 pin connector that plugs into the back of the audio unit (the male allows for factory sat radio and female plugs into radio). The other should have a single red wire that goes to a male/female 10 pin connector. That red wire is what requires 12v ACC power. (Turns the device on and off with the ignition switch)FYI, make sure you have the right purple wire. It is pin 7 on the 20 pin connector it should be a purple wire with two silver dots.xxxxxxxxxx09 08 07 06 05 04 03 02 0120 18 17 16 15 14 13 12 11 10 19
