iPod alternative

Will any MP3 players other than iPod play in the G37? I tried my girlfriend's Sansa player, but it wasn't detected. I don't want to buy an iPod unless I have to.

The connector is a proprietary iPod connector. How did you even get the Sansa to plug in? Unless you just attached it to the RCA connectors in which case it does not have any way of controlling anything, it just pipes through the audio and video.

I agree it would be nice to have other options, but since they had to pick one it only makes sense to choose the one that has 70% market share. I have never owned an iPod either, but now that I have this car I have sold my Zune and am picking up a used iPod.

It fit. Either the pin outs are different or the connection isn't exactly the same, but it physically fit the iPod connector that came with the car.
