Is there a way to get an IPOD adaptor installed within the car (vs. plugging into the cigarette lighter -- which, incidentally, the use of the cord ripped the cigarette lighter out of the dash of the car -- how cheap!)

Thanks for the help!

I ordered a Nissan adapter, y-PODNISV2 Neo Pro Link - PODNISV2, from StoreCare Management LLC for about $ 200. Should arrive early next week. It allows the full control of the iPod through the stereo controls.

Hope this helps.

When you received it, how did it work out for you?

Some good information on hooking an iPod up to a Murano can be found here http://forums.ipodlounge.com/s...64397 ...haven't done it yet, but will post details as I get them.

I installed the PODNISV2 from Neo car audio online over a year ago. It connected directly to the rear of the Bose main unit in dash. It allows control of the ipod, (mine is mounted on a velcro strip, on the console) via the steering wheel controls or the main unit. It shows up as CD #5. The display reads the track and time information only, it does not identify the tune being played.

Mine works great with no issues for over a year. The ipod is automatically charged and shuts down when the ignition is off. Restarts where it left off.

I liked it so well I bought a second unit for my 350Z, also bose equipped. I mounted the ipod in the rear glove box in the Z. The harness is long enough, about 6'. I got a second ipod off craigslist for the second car. $40, 2 gig nano.
