Hi, has anyone tried this ipod adapter?

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-t...11NIS

ALso, in the FAQ of this forum, there are instructions hooking up the ipod. My question is...does anyone know

1) where to get those harnesses?2) will it work for a factory stereo w/o satellite?

Thanks!

Those part numbers should be Nissan part numbers, so any Nissan dealership should be able to get them.

As far as functioning on other stereos, I don't know. Perhaps coxcj or TheOrangeChannel will know.

The harnesses come with the adapter. As for not having satellite radio, I'm not sure it matters. The information that I got all showed that it was for the 6-disc in dash changer, so if that's not the radio you have, then you're better off asking the dealer.

For my personal opinion, I say it's the best investment that I've ever made for a car. It's the best upgrade that I could do while still making it look stock. That will hopefully save me from suffering the fate of having a new head unit stolen from my car (sorry EV).

I got everything at the dealer. If you order it from crutchfield, I believe you have to fill out the information about what kind of radio you have and then it will make sure you have the right harness.

The crutchfield adapter i posted above has a physical module and it seems to have pretty good reviews.

I got mine a couple months ago and there really wasn't much out there in the way of reviews for compatability. I got mine from the dealer because I was willing to pay the extra to know that it was going to work. I would have paid almost 200 more if I had them install it.

I got in touch with the tech guys at USAspec and it turns out that http://www.crutchfield.com/S-q...11NISwill NOT work with versas...so pretty much the harnesses are the only way to go

Also, I called the dealer and the ipod adapter with the 2 additional harnesses will cost $270. That's kinda expensive. I guess I'll probably get a new stereo with an aux input.

that looks like a pretty good head unit. I like the USB port in the front. Once you get it in the car, let us know. That looks like a nice alternative to the adapter for the stock head unit.
