Ipod Adapter & Iphone 3G Charging

Can anyone confirm or deny that the factory ipod adapter works with the new iphone 3g? I know there are plenty of issues with charging compatibility.

it does not.... the iphone comes up and says this device is not compatible with the iphone etc......

This makes me a sad panda... I don't have the factory connector, but I think all the aftermarket ones are incompatible as well

The problem with this is that it makes the phone too big to fit in the center console...

i guess i am the iPod guy or something now(probably should have gotten the USA SPEC instead of the new tv/xbox)

But I emailed USA SPEC since their website said they would have a new cable for the 3G iPhone in October, and got this response...

Bought the scosche passport today at an apple store and it worked well ($26)... ipod 4g now charges on my usa spec... thanks again
