Ipod 2002 Maxima

My girlfriend has a 2002 Maxima with the Clarion OEM stereo, no cd changer. We are trying to hook up the AUX-NISS box so that she can play the Ipod through the stereo using the changer function.

Did Clarion make two seperate OEM stereos, one with a "CD/CHG" button and one with just a "CD" button?

The stereo does not seem to recognize the Ipod and Crutchfield states that you need the stereo with the "CD/CHG" button, does this exist?
