Happy 2012.

I have a question. My own a 2009 NISSAN Maxima SV fully loaded. I also own a IPOD Touch 1st. I have the interface cable, but my ipod charges but will not register on the screen nor play. Has anyone encountered this problem?

The issue here is likely due to it being a earlier iPod. They changed the type of charging units used a few years ago, which didn't allow them to sync up properly with certain connections. Unfortunately, there's probably no easy fix to make your current one work properly and it's not an issue with the cars equipment either. You'd probably come out better purchasing a newer iPod, than the accessories required to make your current one work properly.
