Since Hyundai is coming out with a 429hp V8 for the Genesis I believe Nissan needs to step thing up and offer a G56.

Actually, price wise the IPL is not really a whole lot more then the normal couple especially when you factor in the added features.

Lets face it, a Hyundai is still a Hyundai..........there will be significant differences.

Still, I don't want to have my $45-50k luxury sports car constantly azz-whupped on the streets or track by a base Hyundai with a 10/100k warranty.

Dunno yet, It's not out. The car could weigh 2 tons and have horrible gearing for a sedan that would negate it. I doubt that will be the case as Hyundai is hard at work trying to be a much higher-end manufacturer than in the past. They probably should come up with a higher level brand name, like Infiniti is to Nissan and Acura is to Honda for these style products.

Of course, the V8 may work its way into the Genesis coupe which would be quite interesting.

then again, in the Genesis you are actually comparing it more to the M instead of the G. I would feel fairly the confident the M56 will still be faster, but like you mentioned, anything is possible, and yes, if they drop that V8 in the Genesis couple, that would certainly be interesting.

With the Mustang and Camaro V8's all pushing 400+hp I want to see Nissan offer the G/Z with similar (or more).

Dammit :)

They should drop in the 5.0 from the FX. That would be pretty sweet!

If they drop that v8 in the Genesis Coupe, its going to be a beast. The 6 in the genesis coupe is pretty damn fun. Doesn't handle as well as a G35/37 and has the similar problem that the S chassis has with limited front suspension travel. The visibility out of the Genesis Coupe is also fairly poor compared to the G35/37 coupe (the 350z/370z is far worse than both however). It will be quick, and they do gear the genesis fairly aggressively. At any rate, it will be interesting. I'm just curious how with all these 400hp motors in cars right now manufactures are gonna hit that 35mpg by 2015. I'm not going to be surprised when they come out with an 8 speed manual to try and boost the gas milage.
