The long awaited Iphone update (for 3g phones) enables A2DP audio streaming for the bluetooth which is in all M35/45s with navigation. From what I understand, you can now stream music wirelessly to your car straight from your iphone. Has anyone had an experience with this? The update became available this morning and i have not had a chance to download.

If anyone has any information or corrections to my post, please reply.

Thanks,EP

I haven't done any research on this yet, but I would assume that we will not be able to stream music wirelessly. In order to stream music via bluetooth the car must be able to do A2DP as well as the phone. I don't believe our cars bluetooth system has this capability. I'm pretty sure it is simply meant to send and receive calls. I have an iPhone as well and am about to download the update so time will tell. It would be a cool feature but the sound quality can't be very good anyway.

The next gen iPhone that will be out soon should be able to stream music over a low power FM band to your radio. If apple will allow this or not is up to them, but the chipset that the phone will be using has the capability.

The bluetooth in the M is barely capable of working with some phones as a search of this forum will reveal. You'll find it can't do any kind of wireless contact sync, and complaints of echoes are common. With my old blackberry it used to freeze the whole system on occasion.

In short - you cannot do A2DP to stream music to the car....

If you can get it to send and receive calls, consider yourself lucky and move on...

Unfortunately you will not be able to stream music from your iphone to the M on the factory system.

There is a Stereo Gateway that Blackberry sells that may work.

Just to verify I tried and had no luck. But the iphone update was much needed. Now its features match what other phones already did.
