Hey guys,
Trying to connect my iPhone 5 with a lighting adapter connected to integrated iPod connection on my '09 M35. Getting iPod not connected. Tested the cable with iPhone 4 which has full functionality.

Anyone successfully using iPhone 5 with lightning adapter?

Thanks
Tree

I will check it out but it connects via Bluetooth fine. Phone functions work but music doesn't.

I don't believe the 09 M35 supports A2DP.. please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think he's having a problem using the ipod connection the car comes with. He can connect his phone fine via bluetooth for phone calls, but when he connects his phone (using a lightning adapter), it doesn't recognize with a direct connection (no wireless for music).

I read some places that some adapters will not work while other, more expensive adapters will. If you have a cheap adapter, try going to the apple store and getting one of those expensive ones if you dont have one already.

Apparently it is the 3rd party cable. With iOS 7, Apple requires a special chip in the port. http://readwrite.com/2013/09/24/ios-7-l ... o1Suh84fwW

2009 M35S working with iPod integrated cable.

iPhone 5 used with Apple Lighting to 30pin adapter and 30pin extension cable. (the lightning to 30 pin adapter with cable did not work)

Music menu shows on the touch display
Controls on steering work with iPhone
Phone calls stop music and resume on end of call

Does not charge phone

If I'm understanding the Apple FAQ correctly the chip is in the lightening cable itself. Can't you try using the original apple lightening cable not a converter?

I have a 2008 M35 and an iPhone 5 and had the same problem. I was using the Apple 30pin to lightning adapter and was able to listen to music but it would not charge my iPhone. I did some googling and discovered it was because the power was being supplied to the wrong pin in the 30 pin side so it didn't transfer over with the converter. I picked up a CableJive dockStubz+ Charge Converter and placed this between the Infiniti cable and the Apple adapter and now it charges and plays music. The only issue I have had is during the winter when it gets real cold, it doesn't recognize the phone right away, it may take 1 - 10 minutes while the car warms up. It seems that has more to do with the Infiniti connection than this as I have removed it and still have that issue and the phone charges during that time, it is just the radio doesn't recognize the iPhone is connected.

I will pickup a DockStubz soon if that will resolve the charging issues. At least it will fit in the console and be discreet. Much better audio quality over Bluetooth doing it this way. Thanks
