iPhone control problem

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

The control of my iPhone started acting strange recently.
If I select "Album" and pick an album, the songs play properly.
But if select "Songs" and pick a track, the screen goes to the top menu with "Playlist" highlighted. Individual tracks won't play.
The same thing happens with selecting "Artist". I pick a track, but the track doesn't play, and the screen goes back to Playlist.
This may have started after I loaded a bunch of songs from some CDs, but everything functions properly on the iPhone and my Mac (using iTunes).
Weird. Has anyone experienced this?

I tried connecting my iPod, and Infiniti's menus work properly.
Same exact music is on my iPhone, but the Infiniti display keeps going back to top menu (Playlist, etc) when I select a track.
Next will try to find another iPhone 4.

danncas - I have an '08 EX35 that does not support Bluetooth audio streaming. I connect to the iPod port using Infiniti's interface cable.

Some progress.
First of all, a correction, its IOS6 on my iphone.
A found a post in a apple forum that said to purchase a song, any song, from the iTunes store using your Mac, then sync to the iphone. Far fetched, but others said it worked.
I tried it. Now the menus work! The song plays (the info comes up, the timer starts counting)!
BUT NO AUDIO!!! Audio is fine from radio, Music Box, Satellite. But nothing from the iPhone.
WTH!

Further digging in the Apple forums showed that lots of people have problems with vehicle interfaces when they upgraded to iOS6. In my case, downloading a new iTunes track got the menus to operate properly, but no audio. Then I shut down the phone and restarted it -- the audio is back. Case closed. Hopefully this will help someone else.

I had the update from Infiniti and the bluetooth phone part works. Audio streaming work some what. cant pick play list can see artist and titles.
I updated iphone its a 4S to IOS 6.1 and now i cant even make a call.
Im calling my dealer may I will try to roll back Infiniti update.
I'm reading that people with Iphone 5 with out Infinit update is work fine.
It seem ever since the 6.0 update its a crap shoot for all manufactures.
I like to hear from Guys and Gal that have Android phone if they can make calls download phone book and stream audio. 2010 model and later. No aftermarket accessories.

Maybe you did this, but You need to make sure that you unpair and delete your phone from your infiniti's Bluetooth devices. Remember, there will be 2 Bluetooth devices for your iPhone: one for the audio and one for the phone. All of that is a little tricky and tedious. I did it while driving once! I find that it really is better to use the USB cable for audio, and do use the phone on Bluetooth. This way you can charge your phone too.

I will say that iOS 6.1 now allows you to control its audio more easily directly though the iPhone rather than being forced to use the car's controls. Sometimes it's a little faster.

I guess if you like it that way. I prefer no to look or play with the phone while I drive. bottom lone since 06 it has been a big pain. All my other cars it seems to be some what better the the Infiniti. I even get a choice to what contacts I want to syn with the car. Can't even get that to work in the Infiniti.
