First time, posting here...

Hi, can someone please tell me how I can connect an Iphone 5S to 08 M35?
I have the old (30) pin Infiniti plug and tried the Lighting adaptor, but car doesn’t recognize the Iphone.

I purchased the (8) pin Lighting adaptor and an adaptor with RCA plug that goes in the headphone hole, http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Lightning-t ... B009A5EIWC.
Nothing works. Can someone direct me to the correct adaptor I need to buy?

Thank you

I'm having the same problem connecting my Samsung S4. I've seen different models upwards of $300 bucks at best buy. I'm using an old ipone as an ipod for now. If you or anyone comes up with a more affordable solution please pas the info along. :gotme

You can't. At least not with the factory iPod connector. The users manual tells you which iPods will work. As you might imagine they are all 2008 or older models. I just went through this. Furthermore, if you have the navigation system, the USASPEC adapters won't work for you either. You're basically stuck using your phone and the aux-in.

Hi, aj1980. Welcome to NICO!

I currently use a Dice/Audiovox Mediabridge Multimedia Integration Kit with my 2006 M35 Sport w/ Navigation and an iPhone 5 via USB Lightning connector with no issues. I came across this thread and wanted to find out if my friend's iPhone 5s would work via USB Lightning connector, and it works; the exact same way that my iPhone 5 works. The only caveat for you installing the Mediabridge yourself would be that I have a 2006 M and you have a 2008 M (similar styles), but without installing the Mediabridge onto your 2008 M I would not be 100 percent certain that it will work on your vehicle. However, I would say with a very high percent certainty that the Mediabridge would work for your car, even if the USA SPEC: PA15-INFI et al. adapter(s) (as jiggersplat posted) will not work on your vehicle. This is assuming you have navigation, of course. The audio quality through the USB Lightning connector is also crystal clear and sounds as good, or better than 320 KB encoded CDs, for a frame of reference. Here is the link to the Mediabridge I purchased for my vehicle: http://www.amazon.com/Dice-MBR-1502-NIS ... e+infiniti (the reviews on Amazon do not reflect my personal experience with this Multimedia Integration Kit at all!) In the unlikely event it doesn't work for you, Amazon has a great return policy, so that's always a plus.

Hope this helps, and please let us know what route you ultimately take! :luck:

M35SFIREMEDIC, I would have to try out my mother's Samsung S4 and/or brother's Samsung S5 next time I see them (in the next week or two) on my Mediabridge via USB, and I will update if it does or does not work on my vehicle. If it works via USB, I will say with a very high percent certainty it will work on your 2008 M for your Samsung S4 as well. If it doesn't, I will also try via AUX output on the Mediabridge and compare audio quality with the M's rear RCA ports.

I think you will have the same problem with this one... on 06-07 it plugs into the satellite receiver plug on the back of the stereo. At least on my 08 (w/ navigation) the satellite receiver is integrated into the stereo and there is no plug. I would love to be proven wrong though. In fact, I would love it so much that I might buy one to try myself.

I just looked at the Audiovox page... they only list the FM modulator ones for the 08+. They have RDS text which means your radio will display the name of the song and artist which is nice, but will not be able to make use of the factory stereo controls.

I understand now. Here is the information I formulated my findings and suggestions from: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/M/2008/AV.pdf

On page 15, the system diagram shows that there is a satellite tuner (shown as #4 on page 17, rear trunk deck area) without navigation. You can check the rear trunk deck area or the back of the radio (AV control unit) for the correct output, and will be able to install the Mediabridge, USA SPEC: PA15-INFI et al. as shown on page 512.

On page 19, the system diagram shows that there is an iPod adapter and shows the satellite antenna (shown as #14 on page 23, shark fin on top of vehicle) with navigation. The iPod connector is shown as #24 and the iPod adapter is shown as #27, both on page 23 as well. The satellite radio tuner is built into the AV control unit.

Before purchasing any devices, I would first check the back of the AV control unit and the rear for the correct 20-pin harness output, regardless of whether you have navigation or not. Sometimes auto manufacturers install outputs without attaching anything to them. For those with navigation, and are not able to find the correct output, you would have to find a compatible iPod adapter with the correct 24 pin output (as shown on page 319), and you can replace it with a compatible adapter using the directions on page 496. You may or may not want to upgrade the iPod connector; removal and installation is shown on page 497. You can then finagle the USB Lightning cable or other smartphone/media device USB cable through the glovebox, center console area or any other area you choose to connect your smartphone/media device.

I even checked the Q50's service manual - http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Q50/2014%20Q50/AV.pdf (page 41's System Description shows the "External data input box") to see if their iPod integration may be compatible, and found out at least on a harness connector level, is not compatible with the Y50 M vehicles.

If all else fails, you can install this: Dice UNI-200-USB FM Direct Modulator with USB, SAT and RDS Text: http://www.amazon.com/Dice-UNI-200-USB- ... NI-200-USB. I would only use this one as a last resort, because the audio quality may or may not have high bitrate encoded CD quality like the Mediabridge has.

Audiovox only showed the FM modulators as being "compatible" for the 06 M as well, and I was able to use the Mediabridge even though on their own website, they didn't show it as being "compatible".

Yes I use that as well....but I haven't much as lately because I use an old iPod touch 3G, and that also needs an 30 pin adapter to keep charge(but can work without it, but will die)...this leaves a ton of space on my phone, and keeps an iPod an iPod

I have an 08 M35 and I have a lightning adapter that plays my music, but does not charge my phone. Anyone else have that problem?
