:wtf2: I just got the iphone 5 and when I synced it up to my 2007 M35 everything went crazy!!!! When I start the car the A/C is on high (it was not on when I turned it off). Even though all the buttons and controls light up, the display screen is off and I cannot turn the the A/C off, turn on the radio or anything. The speedometer lights are off and when I drive, they don't move. The steering wheel and seat will not go to its proper settings automatically. The key warning light is on. The car start up and runs find but it appears most of the dash functions are off. It stays like this for 3-15 mins before everything turns on.

I have heard there is some kind of bad configuration with the phone and the Bluetooth systems in the cars..

Is this happening to anyone else? Is this a phone syncing issue or something that I need to really look into.

I'm thinking about taking the battery our for a while and see if it will reboot it self and go back to "normal"???

Without knowing details such as: "Did you just purchase your car and this is the first device you are trying to connect?", as well as other questions I would have for you, I suggest:

-Check/replace your fuse on the driver side in the panel near the door hinges (regarding your speedometer lights being off and not moving). I had a broken fuse that was connected to my speedometer when testing a friend's broken amp, and replacing the fuse fixed the issue.

-Regarding the steering wheel and seat, here are a few tidbits: If you make any adjustments to the seating or steering wheel before turning off the car, the next time you turn on the car, the settings will not go back to the settings that were previously set. You can set the memory button (1 or 2) if the settings are not going back automatically. Also, I have had issues with the seat and steering wheel not going to the proper settings automatically as well, and it has happened a few times. But, it will go back to normal once you remember to keep the settings as they are, and not change the settings manually when the car is running.

-The key warning light probably means that you need a new key fob CR 2032 battery.

As for your bad configuration between the iPhone 5 and the M35, I haven't seen it. I would also make sure your iPhone 5 is up-to-date with the latest 6.0.1 update (even though I don't think this has to do with your issues, it wouldn't hurt).

Resetting via the car battery could also be done, you'll just have to re-set your Audio and Comfort & Convenience settings.

Hope this helps, and let us know what happens!

I called the dealership today and they confirmed that there has been a lot of complaints with the older cars and newer phones. He said I was the 8 person since last Monday who stated issues with the iPhone 5. We all have similar issues. Apparently they (the dealership) notified Apple and they were told they have been working on the issue.... When I get off work I will check fuses and take out the battery. Hopefully that helps.

And to answer your question I didn't have any of these issues until 24 hrs after I synced my phone to the car.

I have read online posts about others having issues with the iPhone 5 as well, and there was an article I read that stated the iPhone 5 has made basically all of our cars (especially Infiniti's) obsolete. Too bad we can't get a Bluetooth 4.0 and above software/hardware upgrade to better address new smartphone's updated specs and whatnot. It is more of Infiniti not being compatible than it is any new smartphone that is out or will be out in the future not being compatible. I'm not trying to stream music through any Bluetooth app (sound quality will never be as good as a 320KB audio file on a CD, or a DVD/DVD Audio Disc) and I'm not trying to get text and whatnot via the old 30 pin connector (now having to use the Lightning to 30 pin adapter if you want audio that way). I just use the iPhone 5 to place and answer phone calls, and talk to Siri through Bluetooth if need be.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I sync'd up and all was fine. No issues as of yet. I made sure I removed the other devices first before adding the iP5. I guess we will see how things turn out in the long haul.

If you have the av rca jacks in the back of the center console, you can run an aux cable.

I believe the issue has to do with iOS. After further reading, the people who are having the iPhone 5 issues regarding answering/placing phone calls are coming from a iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5) or Android products, etc. and were having no issues with connectivity, then received the iPhone 5 (iOS 6) and are now having issues with answering/placing phone calls. The iOS 6.0.1 update only addressed Wi-Fi connectivity, not legacy Bluetooth connectivity issues.

Until Apple creates an update for iOS 6 that corrects the legacy Bluetooth connectivity issues, I suggest you use a third-party car Bluetooth adapter, such as this one: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Bluetooth- ... B004CLYJ2I.

The problem is Apple. Exchange the defective part with a Samsung Galaxy S3.

I have the iPhone 5, and it is working just fine with my 2007 M45 Sport. I really don't know why others would be having so many problems. I do think that removing all phone profiles and then re-pairing the phone would be wise.

Sorry to hear you're having issues. I have a 07 as well as an iPhone 5. I have had no problems since the day i paired them. This is the first I am hearing of such issues. I hope they get it settled soon. Good luck.

If you have tried removing other devices, paired/re-paired your phone and are still not able to answer/place phone calls, try locating a friend/colleague/nice person who has an iPhone 5 and see if that phone can be paired to your car and attempt to answer/place phone calls. If you are not having any problems with that phone after doing this, and are still having problems with your phone, then it is time to replace your phone with another iPhone 5. It looks like the members on this forum (aside from you, of course) aren't having any issues with their iPhone 5's when connected to Bluetooth, so it may very well be that you have a malfunctioned phone or Broadcom BCM4334 chip (which is responsible for Bluetooth, WiFi, and FM receiving).

I have an 06 with nav and Bluetooth and my iPhone 5 works fine except yesterday it will act up and not hear anything through car speakers, also is there a way to have the contacts/ favorites/ phone book upload to the car without having to type it one by one.

Or something made by HTC.

Apple is years removed from being anything close to an industry leader. They have been passed by many other manufacturers.
