iPhone 4 bluetooth problems

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have a first year EX and recently got an iphone 4. With my old, first gen iphone i NEVER had any bluetooth problems, but ever since i switched all i HAVE is problems. Much of the time the car doesn't recognize the phone. If it does i can MAKE calls, but anyone calling me has problems. Almost without fail if i pick up through the car's bluetooth the call goes directly to some weird "on hold" message, so i start talking but no one can hear me because they've been put on hold for some reason.
Since my car was the first year i am hoping that a system update will help fix this issue, but i wanted to see first if anyone else has had this or similar issues. Thanks guys and gals!

What's the operating system version on your iPhone? If you haven't already, please the iPhone update to the most recent version, iOS 4.2. Apple has included several Bluetooth updates in the iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2 versions — some of which may help resolve your issue.

I own an iPhone 4 iOS 4.2.1 and it works flawlessly without any issues, it also picks up my phonebook and uses my ringtone from my phone when through the cars speakers when I have an incoming call. Like stated above, try updating your firmware on the phone, it should resolve your issues.

I have an original year EX35 and iPhone4, which work fine. However I am not able to see my contacts on the EX35 with BT connection-- how do you do that? Is there perhaps an update to the firmware in the EX35 that enables this and other featuers like BT Audio?

I suppose if you have a 08' model, there may be a firmware update for it, you can check with the dealer. What version if your iPhone using? If you go to Infiniti's website and check under 'Ownership', you'll see that that the 2010 Model (With NAV) shows Phonebook Access as Y (Yes) and the 2008 Model lists it as N/A (Not Available with this bluetooth system). I think I read somewhere they had a firmware update to change this, unless I'm mistaken? Believe it was mentioned in an earlier thread.
