Yeah that's pretty stupid, but Apple doesn't do well with fixing things right away. I have looked at a ton of tablets lately though and now since the iPad is down to $349, i'd rather spend my money on it rather than a $599 Galaxy Tab, or a $249 Nook Color that I have to root to make it do what I need.MinisterofDOOM wrote:Display is still 1024x768.![]()
I can't believe they didn't fix that, of all things.
I'm quite sure that Craigslist will be flooded with iPads now, for that same reasonAppleBonker wrote:Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy! I need to sell my 1st gen quick to upgrade!!!!
Yeah, actually kinda underwhelmed, tbqh. Buying the current model in this case probably isn't a terrible idea. $349 for a refurb is a solid price.
Agreed. I've been shopping for a good tablet though and I keep coming back to the iPad and now since the price is lower, it's perfect. I just need something to use at home, that's bigger than my phone, and can do basic web browsing. The Nook isn't powerful enough for me and requires too much modding at the moment, I would normally be all about Android but I don't want to spend $600+ for a tablet.AppleBonker wrote:The iPad has always been a neat idea. Though I don't know that it has ever been a $500-neat idea. I don't think the iPad 2 is either. My next tablet will almost certainly be Android-powered, though I doubt I'll plan on wasting money for another few years.
Thanks, I'm pretty cautious about purchases more than $150, I keep in mind what i'm willing to spend on something and I make do until I can find it for that. I can want and talk about wanting something for months, but until I can get it for the price i'm willing to spend, I just keep dreaming.AppleBonker wrote:You seem to be a smart enough person. You know what you're getting in to. I enjoy the use of my iPad, but it is definitely not without drawbacks. Since you know all about them going in, I would say you are wise enough to make a good decision. Good luck with your purchase!
Edit: I honestly think you might be the second person I've ever encouraged to buy an iPad... And that's coming from an owner who enjoys his.
