Invoice Price Profit Margin - 2010 Infiniti EX 35

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Pals,

For a '10 EX Journey AWD, with all the packages & a couple of accessories, the invoice price is 41K. Minus the 3K rebate from Infiniti for cash buy, I'm looking at 38K.

Just wonder what kinda profit the dealer make at this price? Since they priced my trade-in a few thousand less than projected, I hope get a little back from their profit.

Please kindly advise, thank you!

Clark

I would guess, the dealer is making between $500 and $1000. Not much really, I think that's a good price for a 2010. The profit margin might even be less. My bet is the dealer is willing to sell you the car with very low or no profit, hoping to make it up on extras like a extended warranty. My guess is that prices are going to rise at some point, the value of the dollar is going to drop, effecting imported goods. I purchased the extended warranty for $1650 with $100 deductable for 7 years and 100,000 miles of coverage, I am afraid parts and labor are going to get more expensive 5 years down the line. Good luck with your purchase.Scott
