Invisible Bra installed

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Had it installed last week on the front bumper, front of the hood, front of the fenders and on the mirrors. Don't have pics as the bra is invisible, but I can tell you that I'm already glad I made the investment (about $400). My first black car and I don't get to wash my car very often so when I take road trips this will definitely save me some money and headaches in the long run.

Totally good choice to get this done, considering the price of the vehicle. I had the front bumper, head and fog lights, hood, windshield pillars and even the front of the side mirrors done. Around here, some of the sand they use on the roads in winter resembles drain rock more than sand! And btw, as I was coming home from the dealer with my new car I got to see a rock about 1 1/2" in diameter fly towards my windshield at highway speeds. I thought I would have a lapful of glass but it just left a permanent scuff mark that can't be fixed. Got off lucky with that.If anyone else out there is considering this treatment.. just DO IT!!

I had a big arguement with my dealer on the bra before, bec. they promised me to install (thru 3rd party 3m installer) a full front clear bra. They told me it includes front bumper, front fender, 1/3 of the hood, side mirrors all for $399 installed. Actually, $699 original price and went down to $399 thro 6 hours of haggling... .

When the actual day of installation came, they told me they made a mistake. That $399 price doesn`t include the full front bumper. After a long discussion, they agreed and installed all for $399. The installer added more coverage on the lower fender front and rear on the door side for free.(You know where most snow or mud accumulate on the side door and the lower rear fender). The guy used an XPEL product.FYI: The sales manager told me they`ll absorb the lost and mentioned that full front clear bra cost them $525. They charge us $699

bokingwen:

I live near Milwaukee, and I know a guy who is a 3M certified installer.

He`s the one who installed my 3M clear bra thru my Infiniti dealership.

Now I know his cell# and can bypass the dealership. I haven`t check his

independent pricing yet since I went with the dealer.

Cool, actually I just want the bar to install in the front and back bumper and maybe the side mirror. I dont want to install it on the hoop. I was talking to a friend that if I have the bar install and I take it off in the future it will be two color on the car.

no it won't, the clearcoat prevents fading from UV. you need to welcome your friend to the 21st century.

I live in Chicago and have a independant guy who does great work for clear bra. He will come out to your house and do the job. Did my EX last year as well as my BMW and my friends Porsche. Very clean job. PM me if you want his info.

$399 would have been the top limit of what any other shop would have charged.

Dealers need to make a profit on all the add-on crap, too.

I got all mine done for free.

EXpert, you mentioned you had the installation at an independent shop in Houston. Who did you use?

I had the hood done by the dealer but I would like to have the full front and lights done. Does anyone know of a shop in the hamilton / burlington area? Or should I just order it and install it myself in the spring. It does not seem that complicated.

Thanks 'rubbersidedown', you make some very important points and I don't wish to end up with one large sticky clear ball. I'll look for some window tint installers in the area.
