So im trying to install 2 giant halogen truck lights on the top of my 01' pathfinder. I have the lights ready to go and connected them to the roof rail but what would be the best way to run the wire from the roof rack to the battery? Im debating drilling a small hole in the roof and running the wire through the upholstery or just run it down the groove in the windshield and right to the battery. What should I do?

Welcome to nico!!!

First might I suggest if you don't know exactly what your doing then get someone else to do it for you...

But the best way to do it would be to have the wires come down through an exhisting seam on the roof (apply silicone) then go down to either the battery or the fuse box.

Only thing is it will look cleaner if you put them into the fuse box in an auxillary spot then run them to a switch where ever you wanted it mounted. But again if you don't know what your doing I suggest get some help and watch them do it then learn from your helper :)

JUST MAKE SURE YOU PUT AN INLINE FUSE that way your safe and have no potential fire hazard :bigthumb:

Good Luck.

Thanks for help, silicone is defiantly a better idea than the electrical tape I was gonna use. :dblthumb:

To install my lights I removed the roof rails cap (required the removal of one screw). Then I drilled a hole there figuring the cap would cover it better than some where randomly in the roof. The wire popped out near the sun roof so I just ran the wire down the main door pillar and I was done.

looks pretty clean! Good job with the install. Did you go to the fuse box or battery? And may I also ask, Did you paint your grill your self? Thinking about doing that to mine.

IDK but his grill looks stock to me, maybe I'm just sleepy.

Yeah it's a stock grill and I hooked it up to the battery but there is a fuse on the wire. I wish I connected it to the fuse box but couldnt figure it out without messing up the car in some absurd way.

Either way, still a mod well done! Guess its the lighting in the pic or something. The grill looked a little darker. But it might be cause I have one the crome trimmed grills. Hopefully that will change though soon with SBK's advice! haha
