I hope this is the right place, if Not, please feel free to move it Mr Moderator.
Hi everyone, I am Richard, aka TnPartsGuy.I live outside Nashville TN, in Lebanon TN, where I am employed as a GM Parts manager. My 93.5 G20 is my 3rd Nissan product, and my 2nd favorite so far. My 1st was a 1992 NX1600, that I sold after I bought Nissan #2, a 2k Sentra SE 2.0 with the PP. I won't go too far, but I really liked this car....until I got the G...even beatup and rough as a cob, the G runs SO much better (150,000 miles and counting) than the Sentra ever could/would. My wife finally conned me into trading the Sentra for a 2002 S10 pickup for her, and I am concentrating on the G now. The car originally came from Maryland, where a Air Force reservist bought it. (In the owners manual there are pics of the car when it was only a few weeks old). Somehow it ended up in TN, and it was bought by a freind of the owner of the dealership I work at for his daughter to drive to college, and all I can say is this chick was rough on a car. All 4 wheels have curb rash, and there ain't a straight panel on the car. The guy brought the car to the dealership to trade when his daughter graduated college, and it sat here for several months, then it sat at the old Nashville Auto Auction for several months, because of a problem with the title. Finally, when the auction moved to it's new location, the car was dumped back on our lot. It had a remote starter, and it was messed up, and at least once a day, someone had to go find the keys to shut it off when it started itself, until finally, the battery ran down. I kept looking at it, and finally the owner told me to either buy it or leave it alone. This is where the problem with the title surfaced again; the NAA claimed the car had a rebuilt title, and the owner couldn't locate the original. I ran a Carfax on it, and it came back clean, although the auction claimed it had one that showed the car as a rebuilt, and they refused to sell it. I offered the owner $750, and he countered with $1500. I offered $1000 CASH, and laid it on the desk, and he grabbed it up. When I got my title, it was clean, not marked rebuilt, or anything. I have done a lot of work on the car slowly, removed the purpled tint, cleaning the interior, currently I am finishing removing the old remote start system and the aftermarket alarm/keyless. I also post at G20.net, and am a Member of NICO, and SERTA. I hope to have the G back on the road soon, and might try a few autocrosses. Sorry about the length.... I just don't know when to shut-up I guess......
