My name is Dustin. Here's the scoop, I graduated highschool and with my graduation money I bought a 93 coupe 5 speed which was a pile of junk! But I always wanted a 240 so I said screw it and picked it up. Soon I had to replace the clutch, was told it just needed bled. Swapped it out and she drove like a dream. Even got a little sideways

It was the most fun I'd ever had in a vehicle, I fell in love. Well after a while she suddenly stopped running and I had 0 funds to put into her. So bye bye the coupe went. Having said that, this was nearly 6 years ago. So here I am getting into the game again and starting a ground up build. Ka-t for the win

I've been doing some looking on CL and whatnot for a motor to begin rebuilding and then boost before I pick up a good shell to put it in. Haven't been able to find much other than some overpriced unknown mileage ka's until I thought to myself.. My buddy's parents own a junk yard. So as I'm taking in some scrap copper wire(I'm an electrician by trade) I ask if they happen to have a 240 around. She first said no but they had a 92 Nissan truck with a 2.4 liter motor. Not knowing if it was the ka24 or not I didnt want to jump on it and get too excited. So I took my wire back and planned on going to check out the truck. Luckily my buddies mom comes to the back and tells me they actually got one in a few days ago. I think score. 140k miles on the motor, came in as a running car as well, 5 speed pig nose hatch. Even though I plan on doing a full motor rebuild I thought it was a win. The body has a fair amount of rust but the motor can be had for 150$ and transmission for 250$. I figure I can get a 5 speed elsewhere cheaper so I said no to the transmission. As a starting point, is the 150 for the engine a good deal?
I know that was long but there's my introduction and question
My build plans are for a mild build, 300-325whp in a reliable way. The point of these cars is to drive them a lot anyway right
