HI everyone!Because you seem to know the ca18det ,I decided to create an account here.I Have an 1989 silvia K's and I am from Canada.

I have an CA18DET with an futjitsubo catback,testpipe,sr20det T25,blitz BOV,apexi intake filter.

Everything else is stock. So my question is if my stock fuel system can take these mods.I wanted to buy an walbro 255lph fuel pump. Also will my injectors duty cycle increase with only the pump?Do I need an FPR and do I need an fuel pressure gauge? My injectors are good for what HP?

I am planning on running at approx 10psi.I don't really know yet. Will my SMIC still be OK with these mods.

I you have more info, feel free to post them.

Sorry for my bad english

10psi you should be safe on the stock fuel system. The walbro is a good choice though. SOMETIMES walbros over power the stock FPR and therefore requires you to upgrade the FPR. And yes if you put in an aftermarket FPR you will need a fuel pressure gauge.

Also the stock SMIC suck ***, in fact it barely makes the cut in stock trim. Get ride of it as soon as possible and until then dont run over 12psi. If you do run over 10 psi its just heat soaking the intake charge and doing you no benefit.

Happy boosting!!

1st-Welcome to NICO!!!

2nd-At stock boost, yes, the ecu, and fuel system can handle these mods.

3rd and 5th-The walbro is a great investment into the fuel system and I highly reccomend it. They can over run the stock FPR though and you may have to install an aftermarket/NISMO FPR to correct the over fueling. This will require a fuel pressure gauge so that you can set it correctly.

4th-The injector duty cycle is controlled by the ECU. I bigger pump won't increase the duty cycle, although if it over runs the stock FPR, it can cause more fuel to be injected into the motor than the ECU expects and can cause a rich condition.

The stock injectors are good for about 260HP (crank), but that is at 100% duty cycle. You never want to run your injectors that high, and the generally accepted safe limit is 80-90% duty cycle. 90% of 260HP = 234HP (crank). That's about 205RWHP.

I really wouldn't trust the stock sidemount past 10psi on the your setup. The CA SMIC is pretty small.

Thanx alot.So the best FPR I should use is an SR nismo FPR?Can I get this at the dealer? And 36psi should be my static pressur when only the key is on and the pump is priming?

Here is a few pictures.

Hey nice ride i just realized your from Montreal. Who imported your ride?

Oh ya for the nismo FPR you might be able to get it through the dealer but don't. They will charge you an arm and a leg for it.

Yea check out or sponsors for the NISMO FPR. You'll get a much better price, plus you'll be helping out NICO.
