Hello everybody I'm new to the forum and looking for a place to find good indepth technical advice. I have an account on 350ztech but that forum seems to be a little lacking in the knowedge and expansion part of the platform so I'm hoping this forum is better or someone here can point me in the right direction. I think the main problem is the big name companies like blitz stillen etc... have such play in the aftermarket seen no one needs to think the guys do it for ya so you can just buy turbo kits and bolt ons. there is no community effort that I've fond for the Z33 is involved as a group tward advancing the platform. That really sucks caus as they say 2 heads are better than 1.

found some pics of one awd swap on the VQ35 and was wondering what is all required this is what I know needs to be replaced Assuming transmission; I want a 6 speed, transfer case g35 axels and hubs, and custom drive shaft. what needs to be modified what will be the distribution ratio between front and rear wheels does g35x have a front diff or just axels. also can I use the stock transmission and replace the center diff. lot of tough questions hopefully someone can answer these. thanks

you migth find more info in the G35 section, the US market Infiniti G35X is just that AWD VG35 on the FM chassis, so while it might not be a direct bolt in swap I'd be willing to wager only a hundful of mounds and modifications would be needed, might haveo lengthen or shorten the driveshafts, and I'd imagine a whole lot of wiring would need to be swapped over, as for the diff, the rear si an R200 I have no idea what the G35X uses up front but I'd guess it's also an R200, I think the gear ratios would need to be kept matching front and rear, yur best bet woudld be a full drivetrain swap and to modify from there, the trick is finding a donor G35X thats not as expensive as the Z

I've seen the AWD Z on the net.... Its by Function Tuned in Dulles VA..... heres the website. If they aren't greedy they may share some things with you.... Apparently they offer on the fly transfer from AWD to RWD...

Also here is a vid if you haven't seen it yet....

If you put AWD and twin intake Twin-Turbo VQ35HR or VQ37HR on a Z33 NISMO, you get a Nissan GT-R on diet.

I don't know much about the front differential setup on a G35x...(if somone can post pics that be nice ).... however I do know that all G35x have automatic trannies with a magnetic clutch to drive the front.

If you desire a manual transmission. You might want to look into hooking up a GTR AWD transmission and their many electronic accessories.. R34 came in 6 speed, but they are getting harder to find, I sourced one in Malaysia and they wanted $6k for it...I know there's cheaper ones but it's an example of how they come. However the R32 and R33 5 speed can be found many places for cheap. You will have to have to hammer or chop the transmission tunnel for these to fit.

R32, R33 rb26 transmission - 5 speed though. Could possibly do an RB26 swap and fab up the FWD.... did you talk to Function Tuned yet?

edit: Looking on function tuned, theirs is AT... really its a g35x drive train swap. Hmm, i wonder if you could get with a shop about this as a project... AWD 6MT Z.... could be a magazine cover - if you got the money someone will do it!

Na used the g35x front...and vq35... no need to swap the motor too...easy to fab the transmission to the motor, not matter which it is...

I think BMW offers AWD 6 speed trannies as well... good place to look forward to...possibly...

The VQ trans would bolt up to the RB motor if that was the case, and i know for sure it doesn't.... if you have access to a machine shop you could probably make it work for pretty cheap.... other than that, its not gonna be cheap, but i am sure going into this you know this is not a "budget" project. Try asking the guys in the RB an VQ forums, while i try to find you an answer myself.... post up what you find out.
