I just got a set of wheels from this BRAND NEW wheel line company based out of MIAMI, FL. The Wheel company name is VELGEN, and let me tell you it is AWESOME to be rolling around on a set of rims that look great but yet arent common around town, like other wheel companies that have become so famous that everyone has them.

I picked up a set of these VELGEN VMB5s, for a great price and great hook up on tires by the owner of the company himself Scott. I have to be honest and admit not everything went as smooth as I planned when i picked up the wheels. There was a very bad vibration at 65-75 mph but before i got disappointed, Scott immediately tackled the problem and after a few trial and error attempts at trying to find a solution decided to take the rims back and exchange them for a BRAND NEW set.

So not only was my Buying experience with Velgen Wheels excellent, but so was the amazing customer service. Thank you Scott for all your help, support and advice.

The Setup specs are:

Front:20X9
245/35/20

Rear:20x10.5
285/30/20

Hankook V12s

No Rub, No rolling needed, No issues

These are nice. I've been considering upgrading to larger/wider wheels, not just for appearance, but also to try and improve off-the-line traction and handling. One consistent "complaint" I've had with my G is that the engine completely overpowers the tires to the point where I can't use more than half throttle below about 40mph or the tires just spin w/o propelling the vehicle. I wonder how changing from 245mm to 285mm may improve road grip. Anyone have any personal observations?

running 285 SuperSports and while I can still spin off the line they have far greater grip than any tire I've had before. I'm still able to spin them regardless.

Thanks for letting me know. I was hoping a larger/wider set of wheels and tires would make a significant difference in traction when accelerating from a stop, but it seems not. Guess I just have to buy an AWD car one of these days if I want to eliminate wheel spin..

So.. I'm still thinking about going up to the 20" wheels. Can anyone running this size wheel speak to the difference in ride quality/handling vs. 18" or 19" wheels..

Stiffer due to less sidewall. Quite noticeable moving from 19's to 20's.
