Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to pop my cherry by posting a few pics of my pride and joy...

Story on how I got her; I had some money (around $5k) burning a hole in my pocket and badly wanted an upgrade from my previous daily driver, a well-maintained 1987 Plymouth Voyager. So my thoughts were along the lines of, "Hey if I can get, like, a decent Accord or Camry, that would be cool..." Upon browsing car listings, I kept noticing that Q45's were selling for anywhere from $1500 on up. Hey, aren't these $50,000 cars? hmmm...test drove a couple of LS400's and Acura Lengends. Both very nice cars, but...then test drove the Q and got instant wood! During the test drive the little voice in my head kept repeating "How can this dude sell this car for such a low price? What a jackass!" To be fair, it was his wife's car and they just got a brand new Range Rover a week ago. I bought my Q for $3000 the same day I met it, and ended up with my favorite car I've ever owned in my 17 years of driving. The car was pure stock from the original owner with complete dealer service records, including injector and some suspension replacement. I've paid much more for previous cars that I probably liked only half as much.

It's interesting to note that I bought the car without any knowledge of this board! I love this board and I love my Q!

Put in an aftermarket Kenwood head-unit, sounds decent with the stock Bose speakers. This allowed a small cubby hole in the center console, which helps for storing all the cash I saved by buying this baby! Also added some '06 G35 stock rims n tires off of craigslist, had to go to Compton to get em, I was playing my old NWA cd the entire time There's more road noise, but I just had to dump those BBS-style wheels. Just took these pics earlier today at Malibu Canyon, it was a nice sunset! Did I mention that I love my Q?

Now idk if u know this or not being a first time Q owner, but I was told if u get a new deck that u would have to rewire all the speakers individually because of the amps, did they have to do this? Did u notice any difference in sound quality?

If I understand your post (we do prefer English here), the only thing required is an adapter. However, some work, and some work not so well.

Great find, and buying a well maintained Q45 from" upgraders" is a good strategy. One of mine came from someone who just had to have a SC430.

Be sure to refresh fluids and filters as required.

Very nice! I actually like the look of those wheels on the G50. My wife's G should be nervous now... her car has the same wheels. I wonder how mad she would be if she found her car on milk crates one morning

Please be sure the tires are of a high enough load rating for the Q. If I recall correctly, the G comes with a 93 load rating, and you need at least a 95 on the Q. Our series of Q is absolutely brutal on tires, with a lot of negative camber on the front - so it's something to keep in mind.

Great looking Q - welcome to NICO!

Thanks for the kind words fellas! As I dive deeper into NICO, I find myself getting entrenched in the splendor of Q love. Is it healthy to obsess over a car so much? Honestly, I don't give a sh*t! Just let me obsess dammit!

I wanted to follow up on the load rating thing for the stock G35 tires. I'm almost certain they are not rated at 95. It would suck to have to replace the tires, because the previous owner said he put 10k miles on em, which means they got a long life ahead of them. If the tires are rated 93, what would you guys do if you were me?

In addition, how do I know if my Q has the active suspension? Yes I'm a noob.

Sweet Q45, If yours had Active Suspension, Which it doesn't it would have a little knob ion the center console or on 1994+ Q45 it would be near the heated seat buttons, And there would also be an "a" on the trunk so it would say "Q45a".

Hi Phil. Sorry man, I don't know the answer to your question because I had the deck installed at a shop. I was going to replace the speakers on my own last week, that is until I saw what was involved:

I've always done my own car audio work, but I guess I'm getting old.....

At 10K and overloaded they are probably more than half used. More importantly, they are unsafe. I would replace them ASAP and sell them on craigslist.

No t models are active.

Welcome to NICO, Ron! Beautiful car! And it sounds like the previous owner was competent - very important in a used G50.

Congratulations!

Lowering was my first thought once I finished slapping those wheels on there.

Eibach springs seem to be the most popular choice on this forum. Anyone selling some springs in Southern Cali?

The house or the car.....lol! That Q has an HID kit (don't know what k temp) but it doesn't look all that bad with the stock housing? Maybe he is using 5k. Hmmm....makes me reconsider...

I have Eibach, but I think the Espilir would be a better choice, up to you.

I believe that is a VIP vendor badge, more than likely.

To each his own. Sorry you don't like that guys load rating.

Looks close to mine, which are 4300K Hi/Lo. Since I have stock housings and everyone looks directly at my lights while driving towards me at night, I blind them all. HIDs without retrofit FTW.
