Box? Are you talking about the heat shield? That's always come with the kit.

Also, to the OP, it looks like your intake piping leading to the front isn't attached fully.

He's right. It was always a part of the AEM kit, hence the price. It was just never pictured in any of the online listings, always used a generic pic. "Picture is for illustrative purposes only, actual product may vary" type of thing.

I didn't know that. I thought AEM just had one of the crappy shields like Injen.

The heat shield that comes with the AEM is pretty substantial, essentially it's a box that encloses the cone filter.
