OK guys and gals, my name is Bryan I currently attend The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS) I have been watching this forum for quite some time now. I am very interested in becoming pretty involved with the G community. For the longest time I have been secretly obsessed with G35s as I am a true SAABer at heart (first love) got to love turbo cars. I made the mistake of showing my girlfriend the uniqueness of the G and how it has a sporty backbone with a flavor of class sprinkled on top. After I introduced the G Coupe to her she has had an itching sensation to buy one. My worst fear arrived four weeks ago when she bought an 07 Coupe 6MT when I thought she just wanted to screw around and test drive. It is quite emasculating for your girlfriend to have a faster car than you. So I immediately entered the market for Gs. Last week I purchased an 04 Silver Coupe 6MT Nav with 28K miles for $23K. (Yes my friends tell me it is lame that I have the same car as my GF, but “I wanted it first”). Since then I have been strategically planning which modifications I would like to do in order to make my 04 280hp faster than her 07 293hp. Here are the definite ones:-JWT Pop Charger w/ polished Z tube (might be the best intake mod for the money).-Skunk2, 5/8” Plenum Spacer (thanks to beancooker for engine cover savior mod)-Tein Basic Coilover-B+M Short Shifter Having trouble with: -Exhaust: Tommy, Magnaflow, HKS Legamax, Borla, Maybe Stillen (more info).-Headers: Stillen, Borla, Nismo, -MREV2: sounds like this mod only does well with the 05-06 models.

The big question of this topic: What the heck is the deal with the Tommy Kaira Exhaust? After doing a bunch of searches, I did not find much information regarding Tommy. I feel like this is a topic that is either a touchy subject or it is so rare it is only to be talked about by the big guns of the drifting world. It says on G35turbo.com that you must order 20 exhausts systems for one order. Anyone interested? Because I am in love with the sound clip of the Tommy Exhaust on G35turbo.com anyone else?

My sincere apologies for making this read so long, but I feel I should introduce myself properly.Best Regards, Bryan

P.S. I don’t have any nice pictures right now, but I had to post some to make this post a little less worthless.

Welcome to nico

Well done introduction.

I can't help you with the tommy but somebody will chime in and get you an answer. I maybe saved some files about it on my laptop at home but doubt it. I'll get home I look at it.

I did a little editing, and got your pics to work.

Nice car. Looks just like mine.

As far as the engine cover, I have noticed that there are a two spots that are rubbing lightly, probably when I accelerate, and the engine lifts. It has caused a little wear on the paint of the cover. Thought you might like to know.

Good introduction. Glad you came aboard.

basically Tommy is like Mine's, they are specialized tuning empires in Japan , think about the Mine's Skyline R34 or the Tommy R34, or the Mine's EVO or Tommy's EVO .... either way they are fast

When i went to Japan , i got to sit in the passenger in a Mine's Skyline R34. .. and boy was it nice...

They are great products im told .. but never tried... I havnt ordered off that site either, so i cant help you .

MREV2 is a wonder on an 05-06 WITH a Spacer, For exhaust ... go to Greddy.com and listen to their EVO2 or Evo Turbo ... its hawt.

What he said those two companies as well as Amuse make car's that are just beautifully fast... I feel kind of ashamed to say beautiful in a sentence, but it is true. I have a video at home of two racing legends test driving the Mine's Skyline, one of the driver's said the car was to fast. Can you imagine Jeff Gordan or Dale Earnhardt saying that car is to fast for me to race at Daytona. That is the kind of engines they build overseas, insane ones.

Tommy Kaira is way overpriced. They just rebrand an existing product and then mark-up the cost of the part quite a bit. They are not necessarily bad products by any means, but you can get the same results much cheaper if you know which products they are using. A good friend of mine has a 350Z that they fit Tommy Kaira parts onto with hopes to import them directly to the US. He bought the car used with the parts on it. He sold most of the Tommy Kaira parts and got great money for it. I can't recall what exhaust they used but it wasn't one that was at the upper end of the list as far as power output. The brakes, however, were wonderful. I believe they used Project Mu brakes. While the stopping distance probably went unchanged, the brake feel was great. You could feel the engagement point of the pedal as the pedal stopped moving down. Brake modulation was purely through pressure at that point, not movement.
