Ok so i thought i might introduce myself finally. I have been viewing the forum for a year but never posted but id like to get more involved nowMy name is James, i live in Sydney Australia.

Ok so i have owned a few cars. 300zx Z32, 260z, Q45 and now a s13

Im currently building a s13 with a vh45.Ill put a build thread up soon with lots of pics and vids. The car will be the basis for the Protune Racing line of aftermarket VH45 performance parts.

Finally some aftermarket for the VH!

Protune Racing is a business a friend set up and asked me to join. We do alot of work with Honda and Nissans. But we would like to start to making our own gear especially in niche markets like the VH which dont have much aftermarket support but there are plenty of enthusiasts such as myself craving some gear for a resonable price. Our website will be up soon and we are currently working on:Oil Filter Relocation blockS chassis conversionOil pump drive sprocket CamshaftsITB Bolt on IntakesFuel RailsCustom FlywheelAnd other custom gear

The best thing is our gear will be cheaper than Mazworx and as we are an Australian based business and with the way the exchange rate is it will be even more cost effective for you guys to get your gear from us.

Soon our new website will be up so i hope you guys check it out.

Ill let everyone know when its up and running.

Look foward to getting to know you all well.

James Kerruish If you have any questions please email me at [email protected]

(Also if any mods are reading this i would like to change my user name to Protune Racing if thats ok)

G'day James, awesome to see another business giving some attention to the VH, and even better your local. All the idea's seem good but I'm confused about why you would develop a flywheel when Z32 flywheels bolt on?

Anton: Yes its true that the z32 flywheel bolts on but there is still a small difference with the ring gear between the z32 and q45, this could be an issue down the line. The flywheel itself is not high on our list right now. We have an account with JUN so we wont be short of lightened flywheels, but we would like to try and make our own one day.

Dearlove: Haha you never know

You know we have a 5-speed Q45 here on the forums, right?

I have seen that there is a q45 that has had a manual conversion floating around somewhere, also seen a vid of it on youtube.

Hey James! I think I've got one of your business cards when I bought something off you ages ago whne you were still on Aus300

Hurry up with the ITB's!

And do a supercharger kit! Saves me getting off my arse and designing a new intake manifold.

And are you the guy on SAU with the VH into S13 build thread in the NA section?

Hey Chris, yep that was me.. we have a much nicer logo now so we will need to get some new cards made up. That VH that you have in your actually passed through my hands a while back. You bought it from Chr1s right? He now runs protune.

Im still on aus300zx now but my user name is "James". And im not the guy on SAU with that build thread. If its the same guy im thinking bout, he actually packed up and sold his conversion off as he had to much trouble.

I thought you were going a big truck turbo on your slicktop. Why the change to blower?

Yeah got both the engines off Chris. One was mint, one less so

Turbo is looking like a bit too hard. And a blower woud be kewl Those twin screw Whipples are sexy, but look damn expensive! Just have to work out a way of getting it mounted low enough so it doesn't look like a 6/71 sticking out of the bonnet If I get around to designing something I'll let you know Probably an entire new lower manifold with fuel rails, so might as well go top feeds too.

Nothing too outrageous will be happening to the Zed until I get another 'proper' job and finish uni.

Are you keeping the VH starter? Because any difference between the VH ring gear and VG ring gear would be irrelevant if you use the VG box with the starter on the gearbox rather than the engine right?

What is the point of destroking to 3.5L? to fit into a racing class or for 10 000RPM thrashing?

How soon do you expect to get cracking with the cams? will they retain the factory base circle?

love to see more and more Aussies joining the VH revolution. Do you already have the intakes designed ? Mine utilise to 80mm billett throttle bodies per bank, so slightly different.....wouldnt mind seeing what you have in mind

I am.....cough http://www.customplenums.com cough

PS - put me down for one of the oil filter relocation blocks

Chris: Blower would definatly be sexy. I think we could definatly use alot more of the space in the valley for a blower setup so it wouldnt be as high. We also have a dry sump around somewhere so that could also be another option to look into to getting the engine to sit lower.

Anton: I have thought about the starter and i think its best to use a VG starter on the box. For one they are alot cheaper and easier to come by well in australia anyway, and two i think there might be issues with steering rack clearence (in s chassis) and it takes up a bit more of the room i would like to use for the headers.

We are currently talking to a few cam places now and yes they will retain the factory base circle.

ISL33P: Dont currently have any intakes designed yet. Id like to get as much Rnd as we can on it. Try differnt size throttle plates, spacing from the port, stack lengths, and trying to get the intake to compliment the cam and exhaust setup. Ill keep you posted
