Hello. The name is Vik, and I am posting pictures of our current 240sx Project. My brother Robin is the owner of the car, but as of late I've had more than my fair share of the project!

Specs

*RB25DET*Top Hat Mounts*Greddy Intake Plenum*Q45 Throttle Body*T3/T04E 60trim*FMIC*Walbro 255*Apex'i GT Spec Exhaust*Stock Injectors*Z32 MAF*Running a Z32 ECU Custom Tuned by my good friend Ash Powers of Ash-Spec Z Performance.*Full Urethane Bushing Kit (Master set)*Greg Dupree Subframe Spacers*Spring Lowering springs (Coilovers are on order)*Koyo Radiator with Spal Electric Fans

Currently the car looks like crap. It will be going in for paint and body later on this week, then we'll look at getting some new wheels.

The car has been street tuned. It is very fun to drive. Trap speeds in the 1/4 mile are around 110mph (yes I took it to the strip). A/F is spot on and we hope to hit the dyno on the way to the body shop for a tad bit additional tuning and of course to see the power output.

Here are some pics, of the car and of the tuning process. White guy in the pictures is Ash Powers.

Thanks for looking

Nice to see people from Gainesville, FL on here. That's where I'm originally from and my grandma lives off of Archer Rd., close to Arredondo.

Z32 ECU, it was re-pinned too, right?

Not using NISTUNE. Ash developed a program, a lot like Hondata. Its called the Zemulator.

http://ashspecz.com/ashspec/zem/zem.htm

But yeah that was a wideband we had temporarily attached (hence the USPS tape!)

The Harness modifications are really only about 6 wires, for you to run the Z32 ECU. Pretty much everything about the cars are the same, except for a few sensors that the VG has that the RB does not, so you have to bypass some (ie fuel temp sensor circuit) and bridge others (02 sensor outputs) but in the end you get an ecu that throws no codes, and with the custom program (is remapped to the RB's 2.5) and is easy as pie to tune, with the added functionality of being the Stock ECU, and all of its safety features and backups.

Thanks for the kind words guys...Hopefully next week I'll be able to post some Dyno's.

That zemulator looks promising...I'll have to keep that in mind.

wow $600 for the program?! maybe you could look into the BIKIROM cheaper and it use the RB ECU for real time tuning, instead of through the emulator.

Right.. we dont use Zemulator for constant application. Its just there to tune, once we feel happy with the maps, then we just burn it to a EPROM and button her up.

Bikirom is similar to the ZEM. it changes the program during the shadowcycles to its no big thing at all. just pop it in place of the Stock Prom, or if you have a 16 bit ecu, then ofcourse you gotta sneak in that daughterboard hotness

Romeditor, Maptrace, etc All those programs are good, but the Zem is cleaned up and combined. One stop shopping basically. Its a great tool, but not needed for our application. We just set it and forget it. The great part about the Nissan ECU, is that it does the calculating for you, no need to fine tune every individual point, just need to set the markers and scale the tables properly.. let the ecu handle the rest!

I dont goto the Ale House meets. We dont really associate with them anymore. Too much drama and too many watchful eyes on them. We do our own thing with our own group of Nissan fans.

Ash and I have been best friends, going on 9 years now. I was the best man at his wedding hahahah..

Send me an email an we'll figure something out. We've tuned RB20's before not as complicated as you might think, and we'll get that thing running ship shape.

I'd really like to put my drivetrain into a 'vert when I get back to the states, but I'm scared of ripping the damn car in half with any traction. How does the car behave itself with a decent amount of power?
