Well I've been lurking around a while. Off and on wanted a 240sx since I was first learning to drive.
A new hire at work informed me he has a 1989 240sx hatch for sale, and I decided it was time for me to have that 240! :bigthumb:
It'll be a week or two before I can get it on the trailer and brought down here. Its bone stock and has a cracked radiator. Hasn't been started in 2+ years. But I am excited either way. :ohno:
From what I've seen this is a great source for information and use of the search function (I know).
My "one question" I suppose I can stick in here is how bad is this rust? (only spot on the car other than stock exhaust) I don't mind a little slice and reweld etc.

Well after several cars I've ended up with:
My s2000 (at the dragon)

the rust only looks like the battery tray which ALWAYS rusts on these cars, very minor problem, most people remove the battery tray anyway so your good :bigthumb: the only other place id check for rust is the frame rails, as long as they're fine then you got nuthin to worry about. Good luck, and welcome to NICO

:welcome: to NICO!

I bet you had a blast with that S2000 on the dragon. We just got back from there from an event yesterday... My first time on the dragon, and I had a blast!

Welcome to NICO! Congratz on the purchase. You'll love the 240. Glad someone convinced you to get out of hondas ;) I kid, I kid.

What kind of work had you done to your S2k and Teggy?

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Rust seems to be minimal. I am stripping it either way and recoating interior and underbody. I have a few friends that weld so no biggie. Goal is SR20DET. I miss torque.

I haven't left Hondas lol, just expanding a bit. My integra was boosted before I went back to stock and sold the old setup. Let's just say I made enough to buy my S2000. I'll post better pics and a mods list when I'm not on my phone in class lol. Just had it painted.

Heath, glad you had fun, I'll post some pics of how big our group was. So much fun up there. We rent most of Fontana village when we go.

I hate to admit it, but I kind of have a thing for the S2000 :couch

It doesn't fit my fat a$$, current lifestyle (3 year old), budget, or garage space - but maybe someday.

The S2k is only one of two Hondas I'd consider owning. The other being an NSX.

IP, that's a very clean and well done S2k. I personally am not a fan of the hood vents, but the rest looks spectacular!

Lol, I am 6 ft 4 inches tall, and I weight around 270 pounds with a 44 waist and I can drive my s2000 no problem. AP2s have higher seats etc that make it impossible for me to drive. Thankfully, my fiance has her mazda SUV and we don't have kids. So its not a problem for us lol.

I thought the same way about the vents, but the practical uses out weigh the rest. During rainy seasons I put my ram intake back on, and the heat bog on s2000s is horrendous. The vented hood cuts down on a ton of that. I came very close to putting a supercharger on it until the shop doing my headwork cost me a motor. they had to replace it and the 30k used motor alone was 7800$ and took 3 weeks to get it. For that price I can build an SR swap 240 and then some. So here I am.

Looks like my "goal' date is next Friday to get the car moved down here to my shop.
