 What's up everyone! I'm new to the crew and I want to say that you all have helped me many times! I have 1993 Nissan 240sx/se s13 ka24de and i want to get rid of the IACV, IAC and the EGR system. Could someone please send me pics or video showing me how-to and what it looks like after. I'm pretty good with my hands and I want to do all the work myself! My brother gave me this car - he bought of the floor no-miles. I'll send pics and show progress. THANKS ALOT!

An EGR block off plate can be had for about 25 bucks shipped.
Enjuku racing usually has them in stock.
Your IAC and IACV, unless I'm mistaken, should not be deleted.
They control engine idle, with out them no idle.

no sir, you are mistaken!...there is a throttle plate set screw and nut rite under the throttle plate by the throttle position sensor..its an old school way of controlling the idle long before IACs and all the junk auto makers were forced to put on our cars, the IAc was the first thing i dumped in the trash when i moded this 240..lol egr was second..both are worthless imho. :naughty:

Ok, that makes sense. However, IMO, IAC would work consistantly better than the set screw simple because
its computer controlled along with all the other "junk" in our cars. Wouldn't you agree? ;)

The IACV should work fine independently of the SMOG bs. A simple cleaning and re-installation should be all that it needs. You could remove it and set the idle by the throttle plate set screw but you will likely run into problems on cold mornings when the engine attempts to richen the mixture and up the idle, you MAY end up with a fuel loaded idle then stall. As far as the other bs, junk it. a simple beer can can be cut and installed under the egr vavle to block the passage too. Oh and Liquid, I cant think of a car that didnt come with some kind of cold Idle control, of course that dosnt mean it cant be done!

^ haha! That's excactly how I have the egr passage blocked off on my sentra! Lol, also when I did my sr swap the 89 240 doesn't have a power wire for the iacv and caused my car to to die when suddenly lifting off the throttle. All said and done the iacv is something to keep.

the reason i deleted the iac is cuz i have 272 cams..the oem idle doesnot work in my case and i need a higher idle at warm up , and on top of that; i like not having another thing to go wrong down the road..there is a phrase to remember " Keep it Simple"..the simpler your engine configuration, the easyer it is to diagnose and repair.
