I just ordered some intrax springs but I'm kind of weary because they say they will fit 2004-2006, don't know if it is a misprint or what? Guess I'll have to wait and see, I'll let you all know what happens when they come in.

Cancel your order and/or call intrax directly to get the scoop. Intrax corp should know best, they are one of the more respected spring mfg. ???2003-2006??? I've seen this before on other web sites and it bothers me, but it also say that they have no idea about this car. Someone missed the email on the chassis changes after 2004. I'd hate for you to receive them and attempt to install them only to find that they do not fit.

Hallelujah Holla Back!!

car-stuff.com won't cancel the order because it was already processed, so I'm waiting for the springs to get delivered then I'll check and see if they fit...probably won't though. If they don't fit I'll sell them to anyone here for a huge cut. will let you all know. I found a spot to order some espiler springs as well.

*UPDATE* April 4th, 2008*

Just got off the phone with Dave (ext 103) @ Horsepower Freaks. They can get the Intrax springs for the '03-'04 M45.It's a 1.2" drop all the way around. The springs will set you back a bit over $260 + shipping.

A few vendors have been putting the part numbers for Intrax springs incorrectly.

The Intrax springs SPECIFICALLY for our Y34 M45's is part number:"60.1.055" with a 1.2" drop all around

I found a vendor that had 60.1.075 listed for M45's, which is incorrect. The "075" is meant for the FX35/FX45 and has a drop of 1.8".

So it's not uncommon that someone could receive the wrong springs if they don't triple-check for manufacturers specs. I sure am glad I did...I think I'll order a set of 60.1.055's

What does the install typically cost for springs? Does anyone know of a reputable suspension shop in Chicago to install the springs?

I'd be careful about these also. When I search that part number it comes up as 05-07 m45. If you get them and they work let me know, I will be on your coat tails with the next set. Thanks................

1.0 - 1.2 inches shouldn't be an issue. It's the 1.5 - 2.0in that you have to consider more durable struts. I've been rolling since 2006 with my eibachs and oem struts. My only concern would be the camber with a 1.2 inch drop and the re-allignment. I had mine re-alligned back to spec, but my drop was only 1.0, so I'm guessing that with a 1.2 it'll fall back in spec or pretty close.

edit

SUSPENSION LINKS??? <-- look out for this

let me add that I did have mi front suspension links replaced under warranty. I had a small ticking when going over bumps. My trained ears were hard at work to hear it. The Infinti guy drove the car while I scarfed down ready made cookies in the show room. He recognized the issue and the whole jobs took minutes and the wheels never came off. This was months after I put the springs on, but it could have been ticking before, but nevertherless... The car has been solid since then as far as suspension. So drop that beotch like its hottt!

I still want to hear what happened with this order

Actually, after they said the ordered could not be cancelled, about 5 days later the money was put back in my checking account and I heard nothing else about it. I still want to try these springs out, they are the same 60.1.055 part number with a 1.2 drop and they are listed for a 03-06 M ??? well if anyone figures this out, maybe I'll order another set just to see.

researched the numbers again and found the anomaly you speak of:

60.1.055 M35 04- $329.00http://www.outperformanceshop....3.htm

and...

Intrax Springs, Infiniti M Series M45Infiniti, M Series, M45 05 - 07 Front/Rear 1.2/1.260.1.055http://www.autocarparts.com/part/922/5203/

I'm now getting bad data all over the place???

I'll have to do some more checking before I pull the trigger on this. Dammit!

ahhhh too bad my man. These guys are selling new gen M springs! Unless you can verify that they are specifically(sp) for the Y34 chasis; do not be a test dummy/beta car for anybody, but if you do decide to experiment; I recommend you start with the rears. The rears can be popped out with one bolt & nut closest to the wheel. Once you remove and re-attach the rubber boot and re-insert the spring in the seat, you should have an idea if it’ll work or not. You are looking at 30 minutes total for the rears if you have a hydro lift. Now, the fronts are a different beast and I couldn’t imagine having to undo that entire front end only to have as set of springs that aren’t compatable..

Just got off the phone with intrax. The person I spoke with said that part number 60.1.055 has yet to be released and is still in production. Said once it is available to the public the application chart should be updated correctly. Said most likely this is for the 05+ as they are still in production. Sorry bout the bad news. If anyone wants to call and confirm feel free....................

Whew.... Thanks, Boon. It may be bad news, but is better than no news... I guess Y34 owners are stuck with the TEIN's and whatever else 'may' exit on the market. I wish someone would throw-together a sticky featuring all the CONFIRMED aftermarket springs in production for our Y34's.
