I need to qualify this statment with the fact that I'm not talking about the tire rack as I haven't asked them because I want a brand they don't offer. I also searched.

Here's the deal though, every site (well both I visited anyway) seem to say that +27 to +35 is a "universal" offset that works on wheels from 7-9 inches wide. But using the offset calculator for7.5 it's +27 which agrees with the site but for...

8.0 it's +218.5 it's +159.0 it's +0810.0 it's -4

and with the "rule of thumb" that one doesn't want to get more than 5mm closer to the strut and what not a +35 or even +27 wouldn' fit any of those sizes. Who's right?

the calculator, but most importantly, people who have the wheels installed are right, so ask around if you're unsure

apparently a 17x8 27mm will clear, depending on the tire size, and type of coilover. I know my 17x7.5 30mm will :)and thats 9mm closer to the strut housing, according to the calculator, assuming the stock wheel was 15x6 40mm offset.hope that helps.-chetkeep in mind the rule of thumb is just a general guildine I made up to keep people from buying wheels with far to high a positive offset, and to give you an idea of what the offset should be for the front(the rear has much more room).

Thanks. :)

Now I just need to find a wheel that comes in 8, 9 or 10 inch sizes in those offsets ... and sign up for a body shop class so I can roll my fenders.... :D
