I have been tasked with research into a surveillance system for the business I work at. We are looking for something with remote internet viewing (droid compatible is a plus). Anyone have any experience with these systems? I noticed you can get basic cameras pretty cheap ($60 each or so), but what about software to manage them? Thanks ahead of time for your input.

I helped a friend install a security camera system at his business, he went with LOREX QLR464 PC Surveillance, H.264, Day/Night, Internet Remote Viewing 4 Channel Digital Video Surveillance System With 4 Cams.

How many cameras would you want to install? What price are you looking for?

We would probably install 4 to start, and want to upgrade to as many as 8 later. Price? Well, I'm not the one buying, but I think they would go for whatever I could show them was a "good" price. Again it doesn't need to be some encapsulated, does everything for you system. Some quick google shopping searches pull up $270 to $340 for a 4 camera system. That doesn't seem too bad.
