I have a gti-r motor I am having the individual throttle boddies made to work on my rwd sr20det ,and I heard the internals of the gti-r are stronger is this true? I also heard the gti-r has solid lifter Im not sure of that either? dose anyone know what else I could put on my rwd sr car from the gti-r? thanks

Swap the whole manifold including injectors and fuel rail, the GTiR has the 54C internals like the black top engines. The rods supposedly are even stronger than the OEM 54C units in the GTiR, but rods are not the SR's problem for the most part.

The GTiR does have solid lifters, but you will need to take everything off of the GTiR head in order to match tolerances, even then you more than likely will need to re-shim the head.

The stock turbo on the GTiR engine is also larger. It has a bigger cold side than the S14/15 turbo but the hotside is smaller. Swap the T25 housing onto the turbo and you'd have a solid 300whp turbocharger.

thanks man anything else? are the ITB's going to make it respond anyquicker and I heard they will sound meaner? is this true. Also will my hks rocker arm stoppers work with this set up? and will i have to start buying special parts for gti-r engines or are the gti-r and rwd redtop sr the same?

Not 100% on the RAS, but I'd imagine you could modify it to work.

The GTiR does have some variances on the block and other parts of the motor, so be wary of what you change over as some parts are not compatible with the RWD SR's.

ITB's will add response due to the body volume increase, but I wouldn't expect much of a peak power difference. The top end power drop might decrease due to the shorter runners, but this would be more of an area gain rather than peak.

so most of the head is going to work anything int he bottom end i should get? and what do you mean by this "Swap the T25 housing onto the turbo and you'd have a solid 300whp turbocharger. " like take the t-25 compressor housing and put the t-28 internals in??

Swap the T25 exhaust housing onto the Pulsar's turbo. You can do that yourself.

I'd take the pistons and rods out of the bottom end if you are running an early redtop. Replace the rings, and bearings, and have the assembly re-balanced.
