Hi, i have a 92 240sx se edition with 85,000 miles on it. It is a coupe with the digital heads up display and speedo. When I have my head lights on and the lights for the RPM gauge and other dials are supposed to turn on, they dont. They will come on occasionally after going over bumps or the wrath of my right hand againts the dashboard. Is this a common problem with a common fix for nissans? thanks

i have the same problem with mine and i checked all the wires. do you have an alarm? i think it is the connection at the back of the cluster because of the way i hit the dash ad they come on.

I do not have a stock alarm. I actually took the entire cluster out one day to inspect it and it was in excellent shape. All the circuits looked fine. I think it must be a bad connection somewhere in the headlight switch because when the lights intermit the dig speedo goes from bright to dim.

It's more likely a bad connection at the back of the cluster. You have to check the curcuit board for cold solder joints with a magnifying glass. Check the pins where the connectors plug in first. The solder will look actually cracked around the pins. Just touch them with alittle solder and a soldering pencil on low heat.
