Intermittent starting problem 2004 spec-v

Hey guys i have a 2004 spec-v with about 65,000 miles on it and recently its been having an intermittent problem starting. My dad and i have diagnosed that lack of spark is causing the problem, it seems to happen when the car is not quite warmed up but not dead cold either, both times happening when the car had been off about 20 minutes after a short drive. We don't want to start throwing expensive parts at it until one of them fixes it and we want to have an idea of what it could be before taking it in. I was hoping someone with had the same or a similar problem and could offer some insight or maybe there is a common problem with this car someone could tell me about. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey there Welcome to Nico,

Does the car crank and not start?
Does it stumble, start and stall immediately?

Was the Check Engine Light on at any time recently (if so what for?)

Sounds like a cam sensor if I had to take a guess....

It cranks and does not start, when it does start it runs. Also forgot to mention we tried spraying ether in the intake and it did not work, also no check engine light to speak of
