Cars a 91 240sx se the ka24de. anytime in driving (and i mean anytime) the car will die. Doesnt putter just cuts out dead. Still has b+ but i try to start it and it only cranks.

Has spark and fuel, checked MAF, Cka, changed cap and rotor, cleaned the throttle body and plate. The only thing im thinkin is the Ignition Module? Checked the Ecu and knock sensor code and tps code appear.

Checked the tps and there was a glitch in the scope pattern so that will be replaced tomarrow. Still have to check the knock sensor but there is no knock and the engine(When it runs) runs amazing. Just Intermittantly dies.

CAN ANYONE HELP??

You will get the knock code if it miss fires. I had a car once that did a similar trick--could just cut out and sometimes just stop. Turned out to be the oil seal failed in the dist/cas. Pull your cap off and look down into the dist. and see if the cas wheel has oil or anything on it.

From a reliable source i heard that a knock sensor code is very common cause its so sensitive. As for the CAS I havent checked the distributor shaft seal yet cause I also heard that the ignition famously throws the code. I'm installing a MSD as well as the Transistor. If Not those (whch I wanted to do neway) then I will check the seal.

(I hooked up the red brick scanner and it said transistor or coil so i will start there) Tanks and any other input would be great.

I had this happen to a honda i had. It turned out to be the ignition control module. I believe there is something similar on a 240 near or attached to the distributer or coil.

When you said you checked the spark, did you check it when it was running, or did you check it when it stalled and it wouldnt start after that. Is the engine getting compression. I had a car die and It would take forever to start again, turned out it was the head gasket.
