Intermittent power to head unit

Hello,
My 2008 G37s with Nav, radio, CD changer and AC controls has a problem.
When starting the car, either everything powers up and works or does not. The failure is about 20 times no good to 1 time all good. I am told I must remove the unit and send to a repair shop in another state. My concern is I will get a report that all is OK with the head unit. Then what? Anyone have a solution?

Never really heard of this issue with the G37. If you are talking the main CD unit then it may be cheaper to simply try a used one off ebay for around 120 bux than send yours in to be repaired.
