Have a 2000 i30 t w / 145k on it. Recently developed an intermittent misfire. Lately, more miss than not! Would a coil exhibit this type of behavior? It is definitely down a cylinder, but not sure if it is a coil, a plug, an injector or something else. Please help!

My '02 Altima VQ35 recently developed similar symptoms. Turned out to be that oil had leaked onto a wire leading to one of the coils (on plug). It must have eaten away at the insulation or something but it was allowing it to arc to the valve cover, so no energy was going to the plug. As a temporary fix I simply insulated it with some rubber from a bicycle tube and then it drove just fine. I now need to find out what kind of job it will be like to replace the whole wire.
