Hey guys,

Recently my car started do this funny high idle at about 1600 rpm. I cleaned my throttle body about a month ago and have had it cleaned less than 6 months before that. I've been told that exhaust gases could be getting back into the intake and building up on the throttle plate. Should I suspect the Throttle Position Sensor or possibly the EGR Valve? Any suggestions, Thanks. There is no check engine light coming on and it does not idle high all the time.

Clean out the IACV, it might be getting stuck.

Ok, what else have you done. It will help to rule out some things.

I have cleaned the iacv, did not look very dirty when I took it off, but cleaned it anyway. Cleaned the throttle body a month and a half ago or thereabout. Throttle position sensor is probably a couple of years old. No check engine light. Actually I have never seen the check engine light come on since I have owned the car for 4 years. I comes on in the on position, but not with engine running. My best bet would be to take it to the dealership but still debating. The car idles fine right now, but the problem will come back soon. Build up in the throttle body would only cause a rough idle, right? My car idles high, but it was idling rough recently until I cleaned my throttle body, problem solved until now. I want to say it is something electronic since it is intermittent.

Sometimes flaky coolant temp sensors can do that.....

Could be the harness or the sensor itself.. Id check the connectors firs.t
