Intermittent electrical probelm with 2000 I30

I have a 2000 I30 model. While driving, i hear a popping noise then all light on the dash come on and the car stalls. After turning the car off and the restarting the car, the problem goes away and the car runs ok. This has happened about twice the past week. do you have any idea what is causing this? Assistance greatly appreciated.

You got me on that one. Hopefully someone will post with a suggestion for you.

Sounds like a hot wire arching off on a ground and then shorting out and resetting. If you hear the pop it might be in the cockpit. Have you done any new mods to your car? Like put in a new stereo or electrical equipment? Check the ignition wires for loose connections or broken wires and check wires to fuse block.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have not completed any mods to the car, but I will check the ignition wires and wires to the fuse box.

Maybe it's simple as the battery post clamp being loose but I don't know if it would stall.

But, otherwise def. sounds like a short. I managed to short while giving a boost and it stalled right away.
