Intermittent driver seat

A while back I found the auto driver seat is intermittent, about 50% of times it moves to preset position when key is inserted, or I need to press the memory seat button to activate the seat to preset position. The seat motor has never failed over 20 years.

If occasionally the seat also fails to respond to the manual buttons or seat switch, then you probably have bad brushes in the motor. If not, the most likely culprits (probably in order) are a worn Key Insertion Switch, poor/corroded connections between the switch and the Seat Controller, or bad motor-driver hardware inside the Controller. On older controllers, the latter is often a DPDT relay that can be sourced and replaced on the circuit board.
