Post

Hi everyone. New here and just purchased a 2011 Rogue SV AWD with a boat load of miles (194k). Well this vehicle has seemed to be neglected and I plan to take care of most of the maintence issues my self. My first problem I have encountered is the HVAC unit is intermittet. I did not notice the issue prior to purchase as it seemed to work propriety. Well the issue is the whole panel that controls blower fan speed, temp, and distribution area seems to be not getting power. When I purchased the vehicle it seemed to work peroperly. All I have done to the vehicle was to clean the interior with Armourall wipes and cleaned the seats with a carpet cleaner. The next day I realized that the blower fan, temp and HVAC control did not seem to have power. I have cheched to blower fuses that are in the cabin and all seems functional. Also it started to work after driving the vehicle for 20+ minutes the controls came to work but once I shut off he vehicle the blower did NOT work again. I have searched the forum and did not come with results like mine. Please help me. I am hoping I can get additional info from this forum on my continuance to bring the vehicle back to usable conditions. thanks in advance for for responses and hopefully I can learn much more from this forum. Sorry for the link post. Just giving as much info as I have collected since owing the vehicle for 1-day. Keith

If you've checked all the fuses, see if you have power to the switch. If you do then check for power to the fan itself. Sounds like either your switch is going bad , you have a loose connection somewhere, or the fan is on the way out.

I forget where the fuse for the blower motor is, but there are fuses in the engine bay. Did you check those as well?

Thanks for the reply guys. The problem has seemed to fix itself. It has been working fine since that day. Another new problem is now I hear what sounds like an acorn hitting the blower fan blades. I believe I debris in the blower fan and one time when I shut the fan off I heard a thump like an acorn dropping to the base of the fan housing. From my research it seems like it is quite a job to get to the blower motor. I was possibly thinking of trying to go thru the cabin air filter and see if anything is in there or can vacuum out that route. If anyone else has other suggestions to remove debris from the housing, please let me know. Thanks
