intermitten Door Chime/warning chime?

Has anyone ever had an intermitten Door Chime? literally works one day, all day, and then nothing on the next day...... Ive done a few search's but only ever get write ups on removing it completely.
i just want it to work properly and all the time. (ie so i stop forgetting to leave my lights on...)

could it be a ignition switch problem?
my battery is fine. i did replace the starter/battery cable's from Z1 this weekend...was hopping that would fix the issue :-(

Your doors and hatch latching properly? Rubber doorpin covers in good shape?

My money is on the door switches. They can fail and cause security system issues.
